Important Dates for 2024 Titleholders

If you are honored with the title of Miss Douglas County 2024 or Miss Douglas County’s Teen 2024, you will be a brand ambassador for our local organization. During your year of service, you will be expected to volunteer and represent the Miss Douglas County Scholarship Program at various community events. You will also represent Douglas County at the Miss Oregon 2024 or Miss Oregon’s Teen 2024 competition.

Please tentatively mark your calendar for the dates below:

2024 State Competition

  • March 3, 2024 - Celebratory Dinner

    • After crowning on the day of the competition, our new Miss Douglas County 2024 and Miss Douglas County’s Teen 2024 will be invited to a celebratory dinner with the MDCSP board. At this dinner, we will discuss the judges’ feedback, paperwork for Miss Oregon, and other important information about your upcoming year of service.

  • March-June 2024 - Preparations for State

    • The MDCSP board will be providing virtual and in-person practice sessions leading up to the state competition week in June. The schedule and frequency of these practices will depend on the availability of our newly crowned titleholders.

  • April 21, 2024 - MOSP Spring Workshop

    • The Miss Oregon Scholarship Program (MOSP) will be hosting an in-person workshop for all candidates in the upcoming Miss Oregon 2024 and Miss Oregon’s Teen 2024 competitions. The tentative location for this workshop is in Coos Bay/North Bend and official candidate headshots will be taken this day.

  • June 24-29, 2024 - State Competition Week

    • The Miss Oregon 2024 and Miss Oregon’s Teen 2024 competitions will take place in Seaside, Oregon at the Seaside Civic and Convention Center. You are responsible for your own accommodations for this week.

2024-2025 Community Events

  • May 2024 - Roseburg Optimist/YMCA Track Meet

  • June 1, 2024 - Douglas County Lamb Show

  • July 4, 2024 - Roseburg Hometown Celebration at the Douglas County Fairgrounds

  • July 2024 - Graffiti Week Events

    • These events include the Show and Shine and the Graffiti Cruise.

  • June-July 2024 - Dairy Queen’s Miracle Treat Day

  • August 2024 - Douglas County Fair

    • This may include radio interviews for advertising beforehand, as well as attending and serving as the DC Fair Ambassadors. Expect to be there every day of Fair week.

  • November 11, 2024 - Veteran’s Day Parade

  • (First Week) December 2025 - The Festival of Trees

    • The MDCSP titleholders are honored to volunteer at these annual events. They are hosted by the Mercy Foundation. You will not want to miss these glamorous, meaningful events.

      • Silver Bell Luncheon

      • Foster Children’s Home for the Holidays

      • Festival of Trees Gala

      • Healthy Family Day

  • February 2025 - Douglas County’s Father Daughter Dance

    • The MDCSP helps with this every year and it is a HUGE fundraiser for our program. Our titleholders will be volunteering alongside candidates at a refreshment table.

2025 Local Competition Related

  • October-December 2024 - Candidate Recruitment

    • The recruitment efforts for our annual program in 2025 may include radio interviews, school visits, social media content creation, and more. Our titleholders will work closely with the MDCSP board to create a recruitment timeline and plan for recruitment efforts.

  • January-March 2025 - Annual Program

    • The program timeline in 2025 may be similar to this year, but it is subject to change. The exact dates and times of practices, rehearsals, and events will depend on the availability of the venues selected. Our Miss Douglas County 2024 and Miss Douglas County’s Teen 2024 should expect to attend all events related to the annual program in 2025.
