Become a Mentor
Are you a kind-hearted and reliable woman who loves to lift other women up and give back to your community? If so, you should become a mentor to our candidates.
We are looking for mentors with diverse skill sets and experiences who are willing to support our candidates leading up to the competition on March 2, 2025. Experience with the Miss America Opportunity or another similar organization is not required.

Mentor two candidates.
Meet with each candidate at least once per week from January 5th through March 2nd.
Meeting in person is strongly encouraged. If you attend that week’s practice, it counts as your weekly meeting. If you miss that week’s practice, you should meet with your candidates outside practice for at least 30 minutes.
Use the provided Weekly Check-In Worksheet to help facilitate your meetings outside practice and send copies to the board so they know how your candidates are doing.
Help ensure your candidates are on track to succeed in the competition. Provide encouragement, extra practice, and hold them accountable to the goals they set for themselves.
Attend mentor orientation on November 3rd and candidate orientation on December 1st.
Attendance at weekly practices on Sundays in January and February is strongly encouraged.
Attendance at dress rehearsal on February 28th and the onstage competition on March 2nd is required. Mentors will be helping backstage and in the lobby as needed.
