The Miss Douglas County Scholarship Program is thrilled to announce that registration for our next Shining Star Program is now open.

The deadline to register is January 3, 2027 at 11:59pm.

Our Shining Star Program is a non-competitive opportunity for young ladies age 4-12 to join our candidates in the spotlight and receive mentorship leading up to a glamorous onstage appearance during our next annual program at UCC’s Jacoby Auditorium in early March 2027.

Each Shining Star will be paired with a teen or miss candidate to serve as her “Honorary Big Sister” and accompany her during all program activities. This experience will provide the young lady in your life with an inside look at the sisterhood and excitement that awaits her as a future candidate in the Miss Douglas County Scholarship Program.

$225 Shining Star Registration Includes:

• Official Miss America Little Sisters Tiara

• Official Miss America Little Sisters Pageant Sash

• Bedazzled T-Shirt with “Miss Douglas County’s Shining Stars”

• Professional Headshot by Angelina Marie Photography (1/23/27)

  • Prints and digital downloads will be available for purchase on picture day. There is a package that includes onstage photos taken during the show.

  • We will print and display all headshots in the lobby. You can take home a 5” by 7” print on us after the show.

  • We will feature all headshots on our website and social media when People’s Choice voting opens.

• Featured Photo and Bio in Annual Program Book

• Featured Onstage Appearance in Tiara and Sash with Honorary Big Sister (3/6/27 or 3/7/27)

  • Shining Stars must wear a formal dress for their onstage appearance. You can choose to match dress colors with her Honorary Big Sister. However, that is completely optional.

• Dress Rehearsal with Honorary Big Sister (2/28/27)

• Bonding Activities with Honorary Big Sister

  • Annual Party/Shining Star Talent Show (1/23/27)

  • Roller Skating (on us) at Parkview Skating Center (TBD)

  • Frozen Yogurt (on us) at Level Up Frozen Yogurt (TBD)

• Invitation to "2027 Shining Stars" Parent Group on Band App

Note: The Miss Douglas County Scholarship Program is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. The proceeds from your registration will support our mission of empowering women to be leaders by providing opportunities for college scholarships, personal and professional development, and community service.

Upon completing your registration, you will be contacted by our Shining Star Program Coordinator and added to a group on the Band app for parents. Additional details and all communications regarding the Shining Star Program will be shared through that group.
